The Marylebone take the plunge for StreetSmart

The Marylebone hotel and restaurant will be putting forward fifteen members of their team to take part in ‘Tough Mudder London’ in aid of StreetSmart next weekend.

On September 16th, The Marylebone staff will be put to the test during the 12-mile obstacle challenge whereby participants must run, crawl, climb and swim through mud and pools of ice water to the finish line.

Brendan Madden, the Guest Relations Manager of The Marylebone, said: ‘StreetSmart is an incredible charity which aims to support homeless organisations that provide the most personal and therefore most effective care; where a person is recognised as being an individual rather than just another statistic. The nature of this charity is something that identifies closely with the hospitality industry with many of the main focuses being on providing support in the form of meals, accommodation, and emotional support and advice.’

This will be the second event The Marylebone has run in support of the grass-root homelessness projects and charities that StreetSmart fundraise for. The money raised by the hotel will go towards charities in West London local them such as the ‘240 Project’ arts, health and wellbeing centre, ‘Glass Door’ winter night shelter, ‘West London Day Centre’ and ‘The Marylebone Project’ who work primarily with homeless and vulnerable women in the area.
