Foodies beating the lockdown for StreetSmart

As the uncertainty of the pandemic continues this November it impacts hugely on StreetSmart’s most crucial time for raising money through the £1 per table restaurant campaign. Despite  restaurants having to close their doors they have still been generous and inventive in offering support. Here’s a list of what these hospitality heroes are up to:

  • OXO Tower restaurant are operating a community kitchen providing meals for the homeless
  • St John Bread and Wine are selling delicious pies (pictured) every Friday, with a £1 donation to Streetsmart
  • Brett Graham of The Ledbury has teamed up with Wiltshire Truffles to sell Truffle Cream with £1 per jar going to Streetsmart
  • Wiltshire Truffles raffled their prized 500g truffle (pictured) at £5 a ticket and raised over £9,000.
  • Madame Pigg in East London cooked up takeaway roasts last Sunday (15th Nov) to celebrate their second birthday and gave £1 to StreetSmart for each sold
  • The Duke of Cambridge in Islington (pictured), is selling freshly baked organic bread every Friday 11-4pm with ALL proceeds going to Streetsmart.
  • Andrew Edmunds, The Hinds Head, Musette by Tom Aikens, Berthas Pizza in Bristol, Salon in Brixton, Gauthier Soho and Cinquecento Pizzeria in Chelsea are all adding a £1 donation to deliveries.
  • SUPPER delivery service has added an optional donation button for StreetSmart
  • Dishpatch delivery service will be adding £1 to all delivery boxes
  • Michelin starred chef Atul Kochhar (pictured) is celebrating Keralan cuisine with a live cookalong on 1st December to raise funds for the charity –  buy tickets at  Cookalong with Atul Kochhar
  • Many restaurants have agreed to continue the campaign into January including Ottolenghi, The Ned, Murano, Franklins, Bellamy’s, Lantana, Volta do Mar, Market Taverns, Urban Leisure, AC Inns, Evuna in Manchester, Blackfriars in Newcastle and the Harvey Nichols restaurants.
  • The owners of Naughty Piglets in Brixton will be matching all customers donations once they’re up and running in December.
