On this World Homeless Day, StreetSmart are excited to announce a new partnership with the MICHELIN Guide for the 2020 campaign which kicks off on the 1st November. Head of Comms at StreetSmart Kimberley Coke is thrilled with the association “We’re overjoyed by the Michelin Guide’s endorsement which we hope will bring a flurry of chefs to the StreetSmart party this year enabling more diners to donate and keeping more people off the streets and away from harm.”
Despite the tough times faced by those working in hospitality, StreetSmart has received greater support than ever from the industry. Restaurants, pubs, chefs, food writers, bloggers and media partners and now the star studded Michelin Guide are rallying together to raise awareness of homelessness and, in turn, money which is needed now more than ever as the pandemic continues to rip havoc and turn people’s lives upside down. Long term StreetSmart supporter and Michelin Star chef Hélène Darroze (pictured above) notes “For those of us fortunate enough to be able to pick and choose when and what to eat, StreetSmart is a way to support the people who simply don’t know where their next meal will come from. At a time when the world has felt more divided than ever, it has never been more important to look out for our most vulnerable neighbours.’
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides explains why they wanted to lend their support now “On World Homeless Day, the MICHELIN Guide is glad to announce its partnership with Streetsmart. By doing so, we want to support an essential initiative in fighting homelessness and encourage people to take part, both by enjoying fantastic dining experiences while directly helping those people in local areas who need help the most. We are grateful for chefs that are already embracing this initiative and hope more will join soon”
